PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Well, another year has all but passed. Can you
believe that it's going to be 2008 in a couple of weeks? It's also
about this time of year when life seems to get stressful. There's
shopping, cooking, gift wrapping, family coming from out of town
or traveling out of town, family members and friends in the hospital,
or sick at home; there are new kids, grand kids, and/or great-grand
kids to shop for this year, and the list goes on and on. Please
remember to pray for your friends and family members who are "challenged"
this Holiday Season, with more things than seem manageable.
As a follow-up from last month, the League has completed its office
move; thanks to our own Office Manager, Susan Ferrell and her family!
Now, we are in a larger space and a new location, as Bob Blymyer
describes in his column, and we're "gearing up" for a
very productive 2008, which includes a renewed concentration on
building League membership. (Bob has a plan.) We just had our first
Executive Board meeting in the new office and found it to be roomy,
beautiful, and well worth a "side trip" to "check
it out." Although Bob will be gone over the Christmas break,
he will be there about three days each week thereafter; so, the
chances of catching him there are good. However, you might call
first; the new number is 399-5600.
Our prayer from our new "Headquarters Team" is that your
Christmas be merry and that the New Year bring renewed health, enthusiasm,
and prosperity for you and your families. Whatever this Holiday
means to you, remember to celebrate the Freedom we have in America
to believe what we want to, worship the way we want to, and to enjoy
our Families and Friends, as an integral part of our own wellbeing.
Thanks to all of you for your continued support of the League!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
