In its fifth decade of service to the taxpayers
and residents of Sacramento County, the Sacramento County Taxpayers
League is first and foremost an advocacy organization focussed on
a four-word mission statement: "Working toward better government."
There are literally hundreds of different
government agencies within the geographic confines of Sacramento
County which can command or spend precious taxpayer dollars, and
it is the goal of your Sacramento County Taxpayers League to carefully
watch, constructively advise, and when necessary advocate articulately
and effectively to achieve specific public policy outcomes.
In recent years, the League has become
recognized as a foremost authority on a host of issues affecting
the quality of life in the Sacramento community, including water
issues such as construction of a full-service Auburn Dam. The League
is often sought as a supporter of local ballot measures, being viewed
as the "seal of approval" in the minds of a cost-conscious public.
The Sacramento County Taxpayers League
seeks to ensure that the taxpayer is a full and timely stakehold,
ably represented and "at the table" whenever issues of public finance
arise. This goal can only be achieved through the ongoing dedication
and commitment of individuals and businesses, possessing the special
expertise and enthusiasm of the "tax fighter." We welcome your membership
in the Sacramento County Taxpayers League, and your role in our
ongoing mission.
